Application Process

From First Click to First Test Day

We keep the pipeline short and transparent. Here's exactly what happens after you submit the form.

  1. 01

    Read the open roles

Scan the role list above. Pick the one that best matches your background — or pick "Operations" if nothing technical fits yet.

  2. 02

    Submit the form

Five minutes, five questions. Tell us your year, department, top role choice, and one thing you've built or broken recently.

  3. 03

    Short technical chat

A 20-minute conversation with the relevant subsystem lead. We want to understand how you think, not quiz you.

  4. 04

    Welcome to DIAN Racing

You get a team uniform, workshop access, and your first real deliverable. The season runs year-round — you ramp up at your own pace.

FAQ

Do I need prior motorsport experience?

No. Most members had zero Formula Student experience before joining. All that matters is curiosity and commitment.

What year can I join?

We welcome students from Year 1 onwards. Many group leaders joined as freshmen.

How does the application process work?

Fill in the application form → complete the recruitment assignment (3 difficulty levels) → interview → admission. Completing the assignment is what earns you an interview slot.

Can I join from a non-engineering department?

Yes! We have members from design, business, and CS. The Business & Management group especially welcomes students from any background.

How much time does it require?

Roughly 10–20 hours/week during build season, less outside of that. Core members often spend more during intensive design or manufacturing sprints.
