Auto Shanghai is approaching, and the DIAN Racing DRe16 electric race car will debut with a fresh look at the MAGELEC booth. DIAN Racing is Tongji University’s Formula Student Electric team. As their diamond sponsor, MAGELEC has been providing these innovative future engineers with support in component design, technical assistance, manufacturing, and more.
MAGELEC and DIAN Racing have been cooperating for nearly two years. During this time, DIAN Racing has achieved impressive results. For example, in the 2016 season, DIAN Racing not only placed among the top teams but also won first prize for Best Electric Powertrain at the “NIO Cup” Formula Student Electric China competition. That season, DIAN Racing became the first team in China to successfully implement a four-wheel-drive distributed motor setup with in-wheel motors, including planetary gear reducers developed with support from MAGELEC’s engineers.
For the 2017 season, DIAN Racing will continue to lead among Chinese Formula Student Electric teams by combining a four-wheel-drive distributed motor system with a monocoque chassis and a full aerodynamic package. MAGELEC will continue to support them in chasing their racing dreams and creating environmentally friendly speed and passion.
As a sponsor, supplier, and technical consultant, we are very proud of these students’ academic and engineering achievements. In addition to showcasing the DIAN Racing project we support, MAGELEC will also present a premium custom electric sports car and six electric drive systems at the show in Hall 6.2 of the National Exhibition and Convention Center, demonstrating MAGELEC’s strong product capabilities and its ambition to serve the global environmental cause.
