300 days and nights of continuous refinement, just one step closer
7200 hours of relentless exploration, all for a new breakthrough
Finally, the all-new DRe23 breaks out of its cocoon!!!
On September 22nd, DIAN Racing held the new car launch event at Tongji University (Jiading Campus). The all-new DRe23 formula student race car made its debut, with nearly 40 sponsors and media participating in the event. As a partner for almost 10 years, relevant representatives from ebm-papst also arrived at the launch event to offer their congratulations.
DIAN Racing of Tongji University
DIAN Racing was founded in 2013 and is the Formula Student Electric team of Tongji University. The team independently designs and manufactures an electric formula student race car each year to compete in related Formula Student Electric series events. Since its official establishment, the pursuit of speed and efficiency, along with a concern for the environment, has united over one hundred DIAN Racers with international vision and innovative thinking.
The all-new DRe23 race car is equipped with three ebm-papst compact axial fans, used for cooling the controller’s water circuit and the motor’s water circuit respectively. The fans are located at the rear of the car, working with three independent series-connected water circuits on the left and right sides to dissipate heat for the motor and inverter.
The powerful performance of the 4114N/2H6PU ensures a high flow rate of cold air supply and excellent heat dissipation, strongly guaranteeing that the inverter steady-state temperature remains below 50°C, the motor temperature stays below 125°C, and the race car operates stably under endurance conditions.
At the same time, the axial fans used on the DRe23 feature PWM speed control, allowing real-time adjustment of fan power based on temperature changes of the motor and controller. This not only reduces battery power consumption under low-voltage conditions but also enables more precise control of cooling water temperature.
During exchanges, the students expressed: “ebm-papst can always find the most suitable fan for us according to our requirements for voltage, power, size, speed control, and so on, ensuring the vehicle’s heat dissipation performance. They are undoubtedly our closest partner.”
Throughout, ebm-papst has continuously paid attention to the development of new-generation talents and innovative projects, bearing a strong sense of corporate social responsibility in talent cultivation and technology research and development. Intelligence based on electrification is the future trend of automotive development, which also aligns with ebm-papst’s value proposition of “innovation, digitalization, and sustainable development.”
This November, DIAN Racing will bring the DRe23 to Anhui to participate in the 2023 “NIO Cup” Formula Student Electric China. Let us wish them to “harness the flash and create brilliance again”!
