At the invitation of Shanghai Shimai Technology Co., Ltd., Tongji University’s DIAN Racing will exhibit at the 11th SAMPE Advanced Composite Materials Products, Raw Materials, Tooling and Engineering Applications Exhibition (hereinafter referred to as the “SAMPE Exhibition”) from May 11 to 13 at Shanghai Everbright Convention & Exhibition Center.
The SAMPE Exhibition focuses on the advanced composite materials industry chain, promoting the industrialization path represented by innovative design technologies for advanced composites, automated, large-scale and low-cost manufacturing processes, and rapid prototyping material systems. The exhibition will concurrently feature a three-day SAMPE China 2016 International Academic Conference, hot-topic technical seminars, a Super Carbon Fiber Experience Day, and the 8th Super Lightweight Composite Bridge/Wing Student Competition.
DIAN Racing, also known as the Tongji Electric Team, is Tongji University’s Formula Student Electric racing team. The team independently designs and manufactures an electric Formula Student race car each year and competes in the Formula Student Electric series events. Since its official establishment in March 2013, the pursuit of speed and efficiency, along with a focus on environmental protection, has brought together 101 DIAN Racers with international vision and innovative thinking. The team members work together with passion and unity. Starting from scratch, the team has now taken shape, laying a solid foundation for becoming a high-level, international team. Going forward, DIAN Racing will focus on high-standard race car design and manufacturing, efficient project management, and actively participate in world-class Formula Student competitions, contributing to the promotion of new energy concepts.
In terms of advanced composite material applications, from the full carbon fiber body panels used since the team’s inception to the monocoque technology and other subsystems adopted in the 2016 season, DIAN Racing’s timely selection, experimentation, and application have continuously pushed the performance of our racing cars to new heights, resulting in increasingly better competition results. Regarding the application of composite materials, all of this could not have been achieved without the help of our sponsors, including DuPont China, Huntsman International LLC, Evonik Industries AG, Fuan Industrial, Wells Advanced Materials, and FangLei Honeycomb. Their excellent products, advanced technical equipment, and rich engineering experience have supported the team’s steady progress in composite materials. The cutting of some special materials has also been smoothly carried out thanks to Shimai Technology’s unique “five-axis waterjet.”
