Ride the Lightning, Race to the Top! DIAN Racing of Tongji University Launches the New DRe23
On September 22, we visited the Jiading Campus of Tongji University to participate in DIAN Racing’s 2023 Season Launch Event, “Ride the Lightning,” where we joined the students to witness the unveiling of the DRe23 Formula Student race car.
The DRe23 presented at this launch event was independently designed and manufactured by students of Tongji University. During this year’s development, it achieved numerous enhancements, especially demonstrating outstanding performance in CAE, aerodynamics, and ergonomics, fully embodying its design philosophy of being “Lighter,” “Faster,” and “More Stable.”
The event also showcased the Battery Management System and Main Control Unit designed by the team using Altium Designer. As the team’s EDA tool sponsor, Altium has witnessed the continuous breakthroughs and growth of DIAN Racing as a top domestic Formula Student Electric team.
The DRe23 Battery Management System adopts a master-slave control layout, enabling functions such as battery box discharge control, cell status detection, and SOC estimation.
The DRe23 Main Control Unit has been significantly optimized based on the original architecture. By designing an embedded system from scratch based on overall vehicle requirements, multiple functions including vehicle dynamic control, cooling system control, and low-voltage power distribution are integrated into the control unit, greatly enhancing the integration level of the vehicle’s electronic control system.
The 2023 Formula Student Electric China (FSEC) is about to be held in Hefei. Altium wishes the students of DIAN Racing great success in the competition, riding the lightning and racing freely on the track!
