DRe23 New Car Launch Concludes Successfully
On September 22, 2023, DIAN Racing held its new car launch at the Jiren Building of Tongji University (Jiading Campus), unveiling the brand-new DRe23 Formula Student race car.
The launch was divided into six main segments: Opening Remarks, Team Leader’s Report, Partner Speeches, Technical Introduction, Car Unveiling, and Group Photo.

At the beginning of the launch, Zhang Zhiming, faculty advisor of DIAN Racing from the School of Automotive Studies at Tongji University, welcomed the attending leaders, sponsors, alumni, and students. He praised the DIAN Racing spirit of responding to the call of the times through continuous optimization and progress, and expressed his hopes for the team’s future.
Following this, Ge Chang, Deputy Party Secretary of the School of Automotive Studies, delivered a speech. While welcoming the guests, she also extended her best wishes for the new car to lead the pack and achieve outstanding results in the new season.

Next, DIAN Racing Team Leader Song Jiasheng presented the team’s report, introducing the team’s work process over the past year and showcasing DIAN Racing’s achievements and progress in various aspects over the past three years.
Then, awards were presented to outstanding DIAN Racing members, whose passion for work has inspired everyone on the team to forge ahead!

Representatives from three well-known automotive industry companies, Infineon, BLT, and Porsche, were in attendance. They were:
Jing Xiaobo, Senior Director of Automotive Electronics Technical Marketing for Infineon Greater China
Director Jing Xiaobo introduced the fields that Infineon covers, presenting to the guests intelligent, safe, and clean solutions for battery electric and hybrid vehicles.
Wang Feng, East China Sales Manager at BLT
Manager Wang Feng showcased to the guests BLT’s globally leading metal 3D printing technology, exemplifying a world-class manufacturing enterprise. This technology is fully embodied in the DRe23.

Accompanied by the launch of an exciting documentary, CN_Porsch X Tongji - Formula Dream, attendees gained a deeper understanding of the team’s culture and development history. Vice President Tang Fengliang recounted the history of cooperation with DIAN Racing. Porsche has been deeply committed to education for many years, vigorously promoting industry-academia-research collaboration, and achieving mutual success in technology development with DIAN Racing. Together with the dreams of the team members, they accomplish their mission and look forward to the future!
In a congratulatory video, Porsche Asia Pacific Motorsport official driver Ye Yifei praised DIAN Racing as a top university Formula Student team in China, noting the strong cooperative relationship between the team and Porsche China. He wished DIAN Racing even greater success in future competitions!

After a year of R&D, the DRe23 has seen many improvements, fully embodying the design philosophy of “Lighter, Faster, More Stable.” Technical introductions were presented by chassis team member Zhao Yuanzheng and e-drivetrain team member Guo Junchao.
Electrical System The DRe23 features bonded-cell modules and a deeply modified motor controller, along with optimized in-house developed VCU and battery management system.
Corner Assembly FSAEJ Best CAE Award 🥇 – 1st Place The DRe23’s corner assembly uses a planetary gear reducer inside the wheel, 3D-printed uprights and water jackets, as well as carbon fiber rims and reducers, reflecting exceptional lightweighting and extremely high space utilization.
Aerodynamics Package FSAEJ Best Aerodynamics Award 🥇 The DRe23 is equipped with an aerodynamics package that generates 1400 N of downforce at 72 kph, equivalent to 54% of the vehicle’s weight, providing strong grip and stability.
Chassis & Ergonomics FSAEJ Best Ergonomics Award 🥇 This season, the DRe23 continues to use a carbon fiber composite monocoque, with an optimized rear body shape and transition surfaces. While ensuring spatial layout, it enhances aerodynamic performance.
