The Tongji EV × Beijing Institute of Technology joint hybrid Formula racing team is officially announced today. It will become the first Chinese team to enter the international Formula Hybrid competition.

Formula Hybrid
The Formula Hybrid student competition has been held since 2006 at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in the United States. To date, no Chinese team has taken part.
As the times evolve, hybrid power is steadily entering everyday life. Until a major breakthrough in battery technology arrives, hybrid power remains the go-to solution for clean new energy. Committed to exploring the frontier of the field, the two teams have joined forces to establish DIAN Shark Beyond Racing, determined to compete as a joint team at the 2018 Formula Hybrid event.
The car’s design has now been preliminarily finalised, using a monocoque with in-wheel drive.
DIAN Racing
Tongji University’s student electric Formula team designs and builds an electric Formula car each year for the student electric Formula competition. The Beijing Institute of Technology pure-electric Formula team designs and builds an electric Formula car each year for the student electric Formula competition.
